Realism Called, and We DoN't CaRe
Each One Has Its Own Character
Select from Grid, Staggered (Vertical), Staggered (Horizontal), Trinitron (Vertical), and Trinitron (Horizontal). Same footage, five different personalities. Perfect for when you need to fine-tune the character of your effect or for when you're chasing a very specific vibe.
Make It Feel Like A Screen
Once you've got your pattern set, adjust the Vignette, Screen Curve, and Glow to create the full experience. Go for a blown out dream sequence or dial it back for a crunchy, saturated 90s look.
Modular Workflow For VFX
Every sub-module (Vignette, Screen Curve, and Glow) can be easily and completely disabled with a single checkbox. Great for VFX compositing and/or swapping in your favorite Glow plugin.
Made With CRT Converter
What Is CRT Converter?
CRT Converter is an effect plugin for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. Apply it to any footage and it turns clean pixels into a CRT screen: a phosphor pattern, the dark gap between scanlines, glow, curved glass, and a soft vignette. Every layer is its own set of controls, and every layer has an off switch.
5 CRT Patterns – Grid is the classic RGB dot triad. Staggered (Vertical and Horizontal) offsets every other row or column like a slot mask. Trinitron (Vertical and Horizontal) gives the thin aperture-grille stripes of a Sony tube. CRT Scale sets the size, 1 to 15, from a subtle texture to chunky close-up phosphors.
Screen Curve – Real barrel distortion with a soft bezel outside the glass, plus Convergence to pull the red and blue beams apart for the misaligned fringing every real tube had.
Glow – Phosphor bloom with its own Threshold, Radius, Intensity, Quality, and Direction. The kind of glow that makes footage feel like it's coming off a screen, not out of a render.
Vignette – Width, Height, Blur Width, and Curve, all independent. Square it off or round it out, or switch it off and keep the pattern.
Advanced – Enhanced rendering with Phosphor Softness, Render Quality (Standard, High, Ultra), Smooth Scaling for animated scale, and Blend with Original to wet the whole effect in or out.
Easy to pick up. Deep enough to dial in exactly the tube you're after.
